ABOUT US
Our Goals

Contribution to Kingston Community
One goal of Yarning for Love is to provide indirect community support to families who are welcoming new babies into their lives. By showing our support through handmade items we are able to help alleviate some of the stress that new families face, and demonstrate that they have a community behind them.

Contribution to Queen’s Community
The second goal of Yarning for Love is to help Queen’s students manage their mental health and gain the positive experience of contributing to their community. Knitting and crocheting require repetitive movements and thus create a meditative state and aid in the release of serotonin. This will improve members' mental health and stress management. Connecting to community members outside of Queen’s will also provide members of Yarning for Love with a sense of purpose and community.
